D e s i g n - J o u r n e y - O f - C h e t a n

It was October 17. The morning started with Kiran  forgetting his belt for his loose pants, I burnt my fingers with burner, had lunch with JK sir :D  A memorable day, it was! Burnt hand gave the opportunity to use my left hand for sketching that day!

'Bicycle'- One of the funniest things we did...Lol! But, I did learn about the riding posture and wheelbase of two-wheelers.  The above sketch's refined version was submitted by Sarah and me which I don't have right now. Well, the objective was to devise a new input method to cause motion. My friend, Hari completed my submission for Major by doing the heading and outline :) since I was at home with the fractured foot :p

Doodles from the past...  The above sketch is one of the early sketches of the first semester.

This was done for IITD Hospital. It's one of my favourite projects, done...I'm not uploading the research and all. Just few sketches. I love to draw cartoons, my second passion after Automobiles. Above are the two, depicting the problems faced currently. The above design was finally proposed after a month long research, to bring UX into consideration along with utility.

Once we were supposed to design a futuristic mobility solution (conceptual level) whose parts were to be cut with laser cutting and connected later. We got engaged in our sketching and in the process, I made this sketch, to which Arun replied, "Dude! Go for some easy model. It has to be made in pieces." "Thanks for reminding, man. I had forgotten that we have to make a model as well. :p " I said. And we started laughing...I wrote his suggestion as a reminder :)

It was a group work with my peers, Edwin , Hari and Vinayak for a design competition. Below are few of my sketches. Yes, only few; I did many but found only these alive. Will update more, later.     The above sketch of mine went as the Concept for Pick Up's Interior. The above sketch done by Edwin and Hari, went as the concept for Pick Up's Exterior.

The below sketch is not from my sketchbook. It's actually the back side of the evaluation sheet of my friends for Minors :p It was the peer evaluation :) Yeah! I sketch wherever I get space, sometimes, it's just an involuntarily action... Jyoti sir always say that he'd term his teaching successful, if all of us become entrepreneurs. He wants us to be 'Job-creators' not 'Job seekers'! Such an inspiring person he is! But this time, he said a little different, read it here...

Hahaha! Edwin always tells me that a trailer and tractor can never be in such turning position (ref-above sketch). But, I simply love to sketch trucks in this position, this gives them, a dynamic and adventurous feel, doesn't it?

There are times when I speak to my sketches...There are times when I get tired of doing things, I like the most...

This happened during one of the classes when I was done trying out the details for my interior sketch. Abhijith was watching me getting frustrated with the pen. I told him, "I am not able to do the details here, man!" And I wrote 'this' on the sketch. To which, the humble Abhijith replied, "Ha? Chethan! Don't say that! You can do it!" Abhijith is one of the sweetest friends at IITD!

The idea was to redesign the existing soap case in order to solve the existing problems...It was a group project done with my fellow friends, namely Arun , Anurag and Ritwik . Solution's feature:- 1) Universal size to accommodate all soap sizes. 2) Corners with dedicated space to insert fingers for easy removal of wet soap. 3) Finger grip on the longitudinal sides to hold.
